Welcome to The Apronista!

The Apronista is a collaborative project between two women who met through the crafty housewife blogging community. While on the phone one day, one of them mentioned that there was not a single source for all of the apron love that is sweeping the country these days. Amy Karol’s Tie One On is the closest thing there is. But it sure would be nice if there were one source that brought together the growing interest in vintage aprons, making new aprons, apron patterns, apron book reviews, etc. One of us came up with the name “Apronista” and this little blog was born.

Deanna is the mommy of two boys as well as a hairstylist, makeup artist, internet junkie, crafty girl, domestic diva, vintage cookbook and apron collector, and Treo addict. She has been making her own aprons via some new patterns that are out on the market. You can also find Deanna at her blog Domestic Chicky.

Eren San Pedro is a mama to three boys and loves all that is vintage. She started collecting aprons after she received some family heirlooms in the mail. Her collection now numbers over one hundred as she picks up every one she can at yard sales, thrift stores and estate auctions. She has an apron for every task, gardening, cleaning, crafting, cooking, and more. You can see more of Eren at her blog, Vintage Chica.

Welcome to Apronista!

(yet another) Web roundup

So this weekend is Baby Celebration LA, and I am excited to be doing makeup for Mommy Makeup at the event…if you are in the area, stop in and say hi. I have access to some free tickets, and if you can come up with a creative way for me to get them to to you, they are yours. Look for the curvy girl in the funky glasses…

Another beautiful Blog

I know everyone and their mother has seen this video, but it is too funny not to share…

Cake or Death?

Who knew search engines could be so sexy??

Congrats to Kim, another Apronista (yes I made it up), who made aprons for Amy (another adorable site!) for the Paris Flea Market in Leesburg Va this weekend…Kim’s aprons are what MY aprons want to be when THEY grow up…

Does anyone remember The Bobbsey Twins? Trixie Belden? Ginnie & Geneva? I used to have a bunch of those books when I was a kid, and I would spend HOURS reading them. I think I want to try and find some again. Yard sales, thrift stores, here I come!

To all my goody winners this month-I didn’t forget you! I just finished another bunch of aprons for Megan, and I will be working on your foofies this next week. Thanks for your patience!

WWW Wednesday

I am still up to my elbows in aprons, pin cushions, brides, AND spring cleaning, so bear with me while I share some more of my discoveries around the ‘net.

I just recieved a goody bag from Loose Lips NY, and I am IN LOVE with their products! I especially love the indelible eyeliner. It does not move, no matter what! They have great shadow trios, lipglosses, and even body products! PLUS, they gave me a goody to pass on to you! If you mention chicky20 at checkout, you receive 20% off your entire order!

My friend Rebecca started a new website-True Mom Confessions-laugh, cry, commiserate, or-if you dare-leave a confession yourself!

Those lovely people at Reynolds sent me some crockpot liners to try, and I have to say I am hooked…anything to avoid scrubbing out all the dried-on gook that lines the crockpot after each use is just fine by me!

The Prettiest Blog Ever!!!
