Vintage Inspired Apron Dresses

I usually try to bring you vintage aprons that I find on my travels, in thrift stores or more recently, those gifted to me by my family. But when I came across these 1940’s inspired apron dresses in the Apronista flickr group, I about fell over sideways. Literally.

They were added to the Apronista flickr pool by Malphi and her profile lead me to her new blog Frills, Frocks, and Fancies. The apron dresses are gorgeous in their own right, but her photographs are simply stunning.

Her about page says that she “particularly enjoys the homilness and nostalgia of making aprons.” But I have to tell you these aprons are anything but homly. They are gorgeous and immediately transport you to the past. I love them.

Malphi's Sewing Kits

Malphi is in the process of putting together apron kits, pre cut pieces of fabric, ready to sew for novices who would like to bypass the patterns and cutting. And the kits will soon be offered on her website which is currently under development. And we at The Apronista will add the link here as soon as the kits are available.
