On a sunny blue-skied day 20 years ago, our nation was brought to its knees with the grief of losing nearly 3000 beloved men women and children. I remember waking to the news of a plane hitting the World Trade Center, thinking I had fallen asleep watching a movie – and realizing the horror of what was happening.
We came together as one nation that day, united in grief.
Lonny Stone was a beloved son and father to his two boys. But it was always his wife my heart broke the most for. To lose your “person” – the one person who got you like no other person did – I cannot imagine a greater loss.
20 years has passed in the blink of an eye, and the grief is no less present, both for those who lost loved ones, and a nation that would be changed forever.
My families hearts are with his today, and every day ♥️
