This weeks weigh-in: – 1 lb!!

Total weight loss: 11 lbs

(yeah, I gained a bit back over the last couple of weeks, but I am trying to get back on track)

If I am going to keep losing weight, I am going to have to ditch my soda habit. I did ok for awhile, especially when we had lemons on our tree and I could just add fresh lemon to my water. I make fresh iced tea, and I forget about it. It seems that juices are just as bad (sugar-wise) as soda, and I have never been much of a milk drinker (unless it has ice in it, and I am eating a brownie, which, let’s face it, negates any good that comes from drinking the milk to begin with).

I figure if I do it a little at a time, just like I have been doing with food and exercise, it will make it easier to change. I am so far from where I started, and the good part is, if I go back on my good habits, I feel BLAH. So this month, my good habit is to drink more water (whoopee!! 😉 )

Another thing I am excited to try is these funny little sprinkles you put on your food.  It’s called Sensa,  and while I can’t describe exactly how it works, I can give you an idea. Sensa uses all natural ingredients to fool your sense of smell and taste (and then your brain) into feeling full. You can check out the exact details at the Sensa website, and while I have only been trying it for a few days, I definitely notice a difference in the amount of food it takes to make me feel full. They are sending me a 6 month trial, so for better or for worse, I will let you know how it works!

Any of my chickys out there trying to lose weight, or have any tips for those of us that are??

  1. Number One: CUTE NEW DESIGN! (it’s new, right?)

Number Two: I’m trying to lose the sickening weight that my friend Lupron has given me.

I’ve been pretty much off soda since my Urologist MADE ME, but, sometimes when I’m sick of water, I do the little single serve packets of Crystal Light at the office. There is free soda there, which is so tempting, so the Crystal Light is a nice treat sometimes.

BUT – for bad kidney girls like you and I, water is best!

  2. oh wow, I never heard of that, but now its on my “to try” list!! Thanks!! just in time for the holidays too 🙂

keep up the hard work, it does pay off!! ~ hugs ~ Cynthia

  3. Congrats on the 11 pound loss! I’m trying to lose weight too, but I also need to kick the soda (Dr. Pepper) habit. I was “clean” for about two weeks and now I’m back on the juice. Sigh. But I did make my husband go out and buy a Wii and the Wii Fit and it sure makes exercising fun! That’s my tip!

  4. You can DO it!! (Who do I sound like?!)

I want to lose about 7 lb more for my bridesmaid dress. I think I’m running out of time for that goal. But maybe?

    I’ve got about 4 weeks.

So, I’m with ya’. But so. stinkin’. hungry.

  5. You can totally give up the soda. Make yourself a deal that you’ll only do it for 2 months. If you can make it that far, chances are you’ll have made it an easy habit to keep.

  6. Congrats on the weight loss…I need to get back on track too. I started walking again yesterday..i did 3 miles…if I stick with it it helps soo much. I will have to check out the sensa. cherry

  7. What works best for me is easy exercise. Exercise that is easy, but for a duration. I walk three miles in the morning, about 4-5 days a week. I don’t push myself, but I walk faster than I would if I was shopping. I find that when I do this, it takes effort, and therefore I don’t want to eat bad and ruin the effort I already put into losing the weight.
