My wild 😉 Vegas weekend has come to an end, but there is so much to tell you about that it may take me a couple of posts to cover it all…

Saturday was the day when all the preliminary heats (Western, Luau, Toga, and Celebrity) were held, and I have to admit I hung around for every one of them – it was SOO much fun to see hundreds of women cheering each other on, the costumes and wigs and group shirts they had on, and of course the show itself – the host was charming and funny, and Marshall (the marshal), kept the women fired up all weekend. Of course Rocky the Bunco Hunk didn’t hurt either 😀

I got to play in the toga round, and even though I had never played before, the women I played with were so helpful showing me how it all works. By the end of the game, I had (almost) gotten the hang of it. I won 7 and lost 11, so that pretty much knocked me out of contention for the grand prize. I had such a blast though that it didn’t bother me in the least.

One of the best parts of that day was learning about the “Bunco Babes” who were flown to the event because their bunco group raised $5000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and got to have a private reception with Naomi Judd. I was fortunate enough to be included in the reception, and Naomi was just as sweet and genuine as she was pretty.  I also got to meet Mary and her friend Maureen – it was Mary’s battle with breast cancer that inspired Maureen and her friends to raise money for breast cancer research thru their own bunco group, and 8 years later, launched the Bunco for Breast Cancer website this weekend. It was a great ending to a wonderful day, and I couldn’t wait to see how it all turned out Sunday!
