Can you believe it? It just seems like yesterday Outback was just a baby, taking it’s first steps, saying it’s first words…
Oh, right – not that kind of Birthday is it? No matter, along with the anniversary of Outback is the anniversary of the Bloomin Onion! It jsut doesn’t seem like an Outback night without a bloomin onion (oh, and those yummy garlicky croutons on the salads, but this isn’t about them 🙂 )
Here are some fun facts about the Bloomin’ onion:
Outback has sold more than 133.5 million Bloomin’ Onions.
15 million Bloomin’ Onions are sold each year.
Before it is “bloomed,” each onion is specially grown to be 16 ounces big and 4 ½ inches wide!
The Bloomin Onion remains true to its original recipe: 17 different spices to flavor the onion and an additional 37 spices in the dipping sauce.
In honor of its birthday, Outback has also created a select number of special menu items that are only available through the end of April. To check them out, visit:

And if you go, have a JUNEBUG for me!
Hee. Makes me think: Little Baby Outback, watchin’ Baby Einstein learing about shapes and colors 🙂
I love, love, love Outback–I literally have a regular order bloomin’ onion, side salad with ranch and the 8oz. filet with steamed veggies (lots of lemon).
Oh, the bloomin’ onion..groan..I am sure that it’s responsible for several of these nasty pounds i need to lose! 😉
Ooooo…I like the yellow!
I haven’t been there in years! I used to get the peach drink, I don’t even remember what it was called!
That is a lot of bloomin onions but they are so delicious!
By the way, I think this is my first visit to your blog, feel free to stop by and say hello at my blog as well! =-)
